Mini-curriculum

Master's and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Brasília (2008), BSc in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Ceará (2001). Researcher at Embrapa, working with the Embrapa Cerrados team from 2008 to 2023, and at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology from 2024 onwards. His area of expertise is centered on the development and use of genomic and bioinformatics tools in the characterization of genetic resources and breeding of tropical forage species. Collaborator in activities with other crops, such as soybeans, cassava, and native fruit trees like the baruzeiro. Additionally, also contributed to projects involving genomics applied to environmental microbiology. Taught classes in postgraduate courses at the University of Brasília and gave lectures in international courses and workshops addressing the use of genomic tools in the characterization of genetic resources. Visiting Scientist in the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (2015-2016). Advised five undergraduate students in Scientific Initiation Programs (PIBIC-CNPq) or mandatory internships. Co-advises a Doctorate student at Plant Breeding and Genetics Program at the Universidade Federal de Lavras. Co-advised a Master's student in the Graduate Program in Biotechnology and Genomic Sciences at the Catholic University of Brasília and a Master's student in Agronomy at the University of Brasília. Participated in undergraduate thesis committees, Master's and Ph.D. defenses at the University of Brasília, Catholic University of Brasília, and Federal University of Lavras. Served as a peer reviewer for eleven national and international journals.
